News from the Medical Desk..finally
Before heading off to work this morning I gave the medical screening office a call and someone magically answered the phone! The person I spoke to was really helpful and even turned out to be the person in charge of medical clearance for Central and South America. He checked our details in the system and confirmed that Peace Corps has not received our documents. At the end of the phone call he gave me an address to re-send the documents, a local number to call him at, as well as an email where we can contact him with any questions. Nice guy, that one.
I checked with the Australia Post and according to them Economy Mail and Sea Mail are only options if you request them. Some weeks ago I sent a care package to a Peace Corps friend in Zambia and was given several shipping options-- Air Mail and Sea Mail. Being that our Medical Kit was only documents, it has to have been send via air mail, therefore only needing 4-6 work days to reach America. The address I was given over the phone is the exact one that I remember writing on the envelope, so it clearly must be a fault in the postal system.
This must be the 50 millionth post about mail! But just like any other nominee, I too am anxious. Everyone speaks of having patience, but that is very difficult to do when such exciting things lie in the future!
